Howard Loyed Opdyke, Jr., 88, of Beaumont, CA and formerly of Washington, NJ passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Braswell Colonial Care, Redlands, CA. Born: Howard was born on October 12, 1924 in Bethlehem Township, PA. He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs.Howard Loyd and Esther (nee Miller) Opdyke. Personal: He was a truck driver for Johanna Farms, a farmer, and a bartender at Pips Tavern and Felix's Tavern. Survivors: He is survived by two sons, Rob Opdyke and David Opdyke; two daughters, Sherry York and Jackie Stark; a sister, Arletta Dutcher; and thirteen grandchildren. He is predeceased by his loving wife, Joyce D.Opdyke. Services: A service will be held 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at the DeVoe Funeral Service, Inc., 136 West Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882. David & Robbie, My deepest sympathy. Uncle Buzzy was one of kind. I have many good memories of Uncle Buzzy from his kindness from having a drink or two and eating shrimp where ever we could found it. Uncle Buzz will be missed. Again my deepest symaphty.
