We never met. I worked with Melissa when she came to London, England (we worked in the same team). I just want you to know that many many people; people who you never knew; in places that you may never even have visited; all these people like me are thinking about you today. I for one am grateful for the sacrifice you made for humanity. May you continue to rest in peace.

I am a K9 handler in Austin, Texas. My K9 partner "Raggio" is a former TSA (transportation security administration) K9 who now works as my partner. TSA honors fallen Soldiers, Marines and 9/11 victims by naming detector K9's after them. K9 "Raggio" is a 3 yr old yellow Labrador Retriever who I am honored to work with and honored to call him "Raggio" as a token of appreciation for Eugene Raggio.

I will always remember Gene for his love of the WTC and his incredible ability of telling a story. I can remember many a night being on the Plaza and passing time talking to Gene and hearing his life stories. I will always remember of Gene's love for his wife and daughter Melissa. You knew if you were working with Gene for the week it would be one of adventure and enjoyment of working at the WTC. Gene was one of the first people I met when I started work at the Port Authority getting petty cash from the cashiers window on the 69th floor. Gene was a remarkable man and will always be missed by his fmily, many friends and myself.

Today my son and I went to a hillside covered in thousands of large U.S. flags in Forest Park, St. Louis,MO. The flags had been placed there for the 9/11 Memorial Service, and left throughout the week. Each flag had a picture, age, where they worked, and their home state. Today you could purchase a flag of your choice. The donations went to our wounded Marines.

I paid for my flag, and walked out across the thousands of flags. I walked and walked, not knowing which one to take. I felt that I would "know it" when I got to the flag that God wanted me to have. Well, the flag that went home with me was Eugene J. Raggio's.

We came home and looked Eugene up on Legacy.com, to get to know him and his family. I'm so glad I chose Eugene. He and his family and Tinker will be thought of everytime the flag flies.
