Oh Special Ed I just can't believe you are gone. You were a very special person and your smiling face and big bear hugs will never be forgotten. I miss you so much! I am heartbroken. Love you always and forever!!

Dear Ed,
The news of you passing was so upsetting for everyone that works at Hopkins in the NCCU. Your smile always lit up the room! I remember taking care of you on night shift and we would cheer for the Pens; I still am convinced you wanted to watch Justin Bieber haha! I'd talk to you about me going to Delone Catholic and you'd always make a face haha. And I'll never forget all of us nurses having a dance party in your room to the music that little dog made and you'd always smile at us! I never was able to meet your family, but I'm very sorry for their loss. You will be missed very much! Keep smiling down on us from heaven. Rest in peace!

To the family and friends of Ed, Ed was one in a million. He definitely was a very special person. It was my honor to have worked with him, I had talk with Ed on every subject under the sun, and the many times we discussed how hard and unfair life can be. Ed was loved by so many, and respected by more. By the number of friends who have posted on this site and on face book he touched so many lives. But most importantly he loved what he did for his patients, for his family, for his friends. We (Ed's EMS friends)are a strange bunch, but Ed you made a huge difference in all of our lives.

Life can be so unfair...you were truly one of the "good guy's!" Your size may have been intimidating to some, but the minute you reached out to shake my hand,I knew your heart was in the right place. As an EMT, just starting out at Grantley, I was literally shaking the first time I showed up to volunteer...then I met you and you looked me square in the eye and said, "You can do this!" From that first day you took me under your wing and I knew I was blessed to have you as a teacher and a friend. I will never forget that smile, the backwards hat, and the laughter. Thank you Ed for being there for me. You were indeed one of the best! May God, in all of his glory, hold you close now...finally, you are at peace!
