My thoughts & prayers go out to the family. I'm sorry for your loss.
My memories of Aunt Ruth are of giving, generosity and guidance.
When my youngest sister was born, My sister, Evelyn, and I spent a week with Ruth because we had German measles. Because of Ruth's generosity, the new baby was not exposed to the measles.
During my senior year in college, I was required to shadow an elementary teacher to get an idea of how to set up a classroom and start the school year. I asked Aunt Ruth if I could shadow her and she not only said yes she helped me get approval from the principal and superintendent. What a great experience. She was the reason I became a teacher.
Aunt Ruth learned that I was required by doctor,s order to stay in bed during my pregnancy with twins. She came and offered her home for me to stay in or to provide help in my home.
She leaves us with a legacy of giving, generosity and guidance.
Prayers and sympathy to her family
Fond memories of first grade. Whitey and Ruth were friends of my parents and I treasure those childhood days.
Thoughts and prayers for Donald, Pat and all of Ruth's family and friends. Schoolteachers touch many lives and their influence lives on through these children, now adults, who never forget their first teacher.
Aunt Ruth was also my 1st grade school teacher at Manheim Elementary School. I enjoyed visiting with her - she was a great story teller.
Mrs. Shaeffer was a favorite teacher of mine. I had her for first grade--now I am a first grade teacher and I try to be as sweet and nurturing as she was!
