Mrs. Owens and Family,
It was extremely heart breaking to hear of Jim's passing. Jim was a great Chief, wonderful mentor and very good friend. When I worked for him at Manheim Twp PD, he would always take the time to go over cases with me, especially when I missed something, which was a lot at the time. I will always have very good memories of our time at Manheim Twp PD. Jim's training did not go to waste, after I retired from the Air Force I found a position at Gettysburg Police Department and I'm now a Detective. May God bless you and your family.

Kerry and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Your parents were always so welcoming. It was always fun to be at your house. Thinking of you.

Betty,
I am so sorry to hear about Jim. We were friends since the late 50's and worked together at SSA when you and Jim began dating. I still remember the morning that I picked Jim up for work after he had a mishap and as we were walking toward the building you were spotted coming from the parking lot and he tried to speed up to get in the building before you could see the top of his head (I think this was early in your dating) but it didn't work when we got to the steps outside the cafeteria. I think I deserted him and headed in. Jim was fun to be around and a true friend that was always around to help. I speak of him often with another best friend from back then and share stories of working together in the Hillen Bldg. and his "409". Although our lives went in different directions after our years working together at SSA I will always remember Jim and the time we spent at work and as friends after the work day was over.

Kate, beautiful words for such a beautiful man. I had incredible memories growing up with u in that house he built. What man build their own homes these days? His infectious smile and energy made anyone feel welcome and never want to leave;) His sweet face (w perfect hair) will always remain w that big smile in my mind. May he travel in peace knowing all he accomplished, service to mankind and the love he created w his family - blessed soul. No doubt, he will still be smiling and dancing with you in spirit. Big hugs and much love to you, Betty and the family! Toshia
