NEW OXFORD Mabel A. (Miller) Galleher, 86, died Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at her residence. She was the wife of Richard M. Galleher, who died in 1984. Mabel was born April 12, 1926, in New Oxford, the daughter of the late Nathaniel and Mary (Murren) Miller. Mabel was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Oxford, a 1944 graduate of Delone Catholic High School, and a 1947 graduate of Providence Hospital School of Nursing. She retired from nursing at Holy Cross Hospital in 1994, but continued to volunteer there and at Birthright of Wheaton Hospital until her return to New Oxford in 2005. Mabel is survived by two sons, Michael P. Galleher and his wife, Holly of Stuart, Fla., and Thomas R. Galleher and his wife, Carolyn of Erie; seven grandchildren, Michael, David, Joseph, Catherine, Elizabeth, Joshua, and Hollyann; four great-grandchildren, Katie, Zoe, Jaxon, and Jacob; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by six brothers, Maurice, Lewis, Joseph, Robert, Curvin, and Guy Miller; and two sisters, Catherine Becker and Mary Doyle. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 23, 2013, at 8:45 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 106 Carlisle St., New Oxford, with the Rev. Steven Fauser as Celebrant. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 13801 Georgia Ave., Silver Spring, Md., at 2 p.m. A viewing will be held on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Feiser Funeral Home, Inc., 302 Lincolnway West, New Oxford, with prayers at 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception School, 101 N. Peters St., New Oxford, PA 17350; or to United Hook & Ladder Fire Company, 21 N. Bolton St., New Oxford, PA 17350. Memories may be shared at www.feiserfuneralhome.com

My prayers are with your family. I haven't seen Aunt Mable in a long time, but I have fond memories of her watching my brother and I. My father was her brother-in-law, John Joseph Galleher. I will always have fond memories of her.

I always think of Dad when I think of her. 2 peas in a pod. Those "Miller" kids...high energy, loving life, mischievious, card playing pranksters! Love them all! Peace and love to Mike, Tom, and their families.
