I am a little bit late to this site. I was a little surprised to hear of Mr. Lauter's passing. He always seemed so strong and healthy in his many roles on screen. I saw him in so many movies. He was so versatile, as well as being so good at his profession. He was a credit to his craft and leaves a terrific legacy. My belated condolences to his family.

I was friends with Ed, everytime I saw him on the screen/tv I couldn't tell you why but "The Rockford Files" comes to mind and so does Charles Bronson in the DW#3.he was just enjoyable to watch.
May God Bless you his family and thank you for sharing him with us.

i wss friends with ed and marni when they lived in hasbrouck heights in the mid 80s. Ameka and Anton were toddlers and Ed was always a sweetheart. We went to each other's parties and ppl always recognized him and he could not have been kinder or more generous. He would see them a few times each summer when we had parties at our cottage in Pines Lake NJ and would always remember their names. Very talented and lovely man. Gone way too soon. I worked with Ed Lauter on the film YOUNGBLOOD (with Rob Lowe, Patrick Swayze, and Cynthia Gibb). Ed was a prince of a guy! A consummate actor and professional with an amazingly strong constitution... so I couldn't believe it when I saw this news. He was too young, too strong, too solid. My deepest heartfelt sympathies go out to his family and friends.

To the Family: I have watched Ed for many years, man and boy, and I found myself looking forward to his next appearance. He did a great job of acting, and I am sure touched the lives of many, giving them happiness. Thanks!

I can't believe Ed is gone. His energy, just his smile, laughter and those amazing stories. I will deeply miss him.
