SORRY TO HEAR OF MIKE PASSING. GOD BE WITH YOUR FAMILY SINCERELY, LARRY PAGE
September 05, 2016
In this day of far-flung family members, separated by years and years of life journeys, it is a blessing to open this obituary and review the decades that have passed since we were kids together. Even though no specific memories come to mind, the reality of this persona as a family cohort arouses my ever sharpening awareness of eternity! Mike, thanks for the memories - - -

Michael Murray has gone on to be with his heavenly Father, and for that we are eternally grateful. However, I would be remiss if I didn't say he will be sorely missed by the many family and friends whose lives he impacted in more ways than he realized. Mike was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, Christ-follower, friend, retired law-enforcement officer, and active citizen. But, to me, he was Uncle Mike. The man who taught me how to drive when I was preparing for the driving test in a large full-size van in the former Fulmer parking lot. He showed my brothers and I how to shoot 9-ball and 8-ball while we were young adolescents. His hard life always chiseled into his dark eyes, he would share his views from the standpoint of a man who saw more hardship and strife than one man ought see in one lifetime. He saw evil in this world for what it was and embraced the good. Mike had the God-given skill of discernment and it was backed by the wisdom from experience. A humble man, he cherished time with those closest to him, and they loved him deeply in return. He also pursued knowledge all his life, and I will miss our socioeconomic, political, and philosophical discussions we would have during family get-togethers and visits to his home. Finally free of suffering, I know he is resting in eternal peace, and I look forward to that day when I will see him again.
