I worked with Joyce for many years at The Gainesville Sun, She was always one of those people that lifted your sprits now matter what. She worked at the front desks and was always a joy to see when we took our Files around the building. I was so happy for her when she got to retire she was one of the lucky ones. She got to spend her time doing what she wanted and that is what we all should do. She did come back from time to time and say hello. That was always cool and everyone was happy to see her. She will be missed. She was one of the sweetest kindest people you could ever know. May she rest in peace.

Joyce was a dear lady, and friend. She was a wealth of "Old Gainesville" knowledge, and a treasure to all who knew her. She was kind and generous, and I could always count on finding her Christmas Card in my mailbox. I will miss that, and I will miss Joyce and her beautiful soul. Gainesville won't be the same her lovely smile.

Aunt Joyce will be sincerely missed. I remember her being such a positive force as a marvelous Aunt to Doug and me as well as such a fantastic Mom to Marilyn and Tommy. She made the best Cole Slaw ever and I remember sharing Tomato Soup and Grilled Cheese Sandwiches for lunch. She was also the first and only one I’ve ever seen that added Grape Jelly to the Grilled Cheese Sandwiches . She was such a great person and will be missed.
