Ken Anderson MORGANTON Ken Anderson, 66, of Morganton, died Wednesday, March 20, 2013. Born in Wadena, Minn., June 21, 1946, he was the son of the late Kenneth Eugene Anderson Sr. and Eileen Olson Anderson. Ken was of the Lutheran faith and a U.S. Navy veteran. Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife, Toni Souza Anderson, of the home; daughters, Dana Anderson Thomas and Paige Anderson, both of Morganton; grandson, Maxwell Anderson Thomas; mother-in-law, Nancy Hedderly Sholar, of Bermuda Run; brother-in-law, Craig Souza, of Raleigh; an aunt, Sharron Wicht and husband, Harold, of Minnesota; and three nieces, Jennifer Shimer and husband, Jonathan, of Virginia, Kimberly Lyons and husband, Justin, of Illinois and Kristen Souza, of Raleigh. In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth "Brett" Anderson; and brother, Michael Wayne Anderson. The graveside service will be held at 3:15 p.m. Sunday, March 24, at Forest Hill Cemetery with Dr. Bob Shepherd officiating. Military honors will be provided by the N.C. National Guard and the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to service at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. Memorial contributions may be made to the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, CB# 7295, UNC at Chapel Hill, Chapel Hill, NC 27599-7295 or to the American Cancer Society, 4-A Oak Branch Dr., Greensboro, NC 27407.
