Grom, Rudolph B. 92 years old, of Sun City West, Arizona and formerly of North Chicago, Illinois passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2013. Born March 21, 1921 in Waukegan, Illinois, he married Helen (Tucka) on August 13, 1949. He was a WWII veteran. Rudy was the owner of Grom's Barber Shop in North Chicago for many years before being elected to public office as City Treasurer and then City Clerk in North Chicago. He retired as City Clerk in 1984. Rudy also served on the Foss Park District board for many years. He was an active member of St. Mary's #79 KSKJ. He loved to play golf and retired to Arizona with golf clubs in hand. In Arizona, he was a member of the Our Lady of Lourdes Men's Club, the Illinois Club, Prides , Echo Mesa Golf Club. Rudy volunteered at Boswell Hospital, worked Friday Night Bingo and the local food pantry. Rudy is survived by two sons, Rudolph Jr of Alexandria, VA and Terrence (Theresa) of Ingleside, IL; five grandchildren, Lawrence, Douglas, Jeffrey (Cara), Terrence Jr. and Janet; his sister, Angie and many relatives and friends. Rudy was preceded in death by his bride, Helen in 2011; one son, Lawrence in 1979 and many brothers and sisters. Interment will be private at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville. Any donations can be made to a charity of the donors' choice in his name. Thank you for remembering him and may he forever rest in peace.
