Nicholas Giese Obituary

Giese, Nicholas R.

Nicholas R. "Handsome Nick" Giese, 22, of Kewaskum, passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2013, from injuries received in a snowmobile accident.

He was born on December 19, 1990, in Fond du Lac, the son of Dennis and Debby (Wondra) Giese.

Nicholas was a graduate of Kewaskum High School. He loved Pribnow racing (sprint car racing) where he was a pit crew member. He was a member of St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kewaskum and the New Fane Kettle Riders Snowmobile Club.

Nicholas was an avid baseball fan. Brewers in particular were his favorite team, and he had a passion for snowmobiling. Nicholas will fondly be remembered as a person who liked to have a lot of fun with his friends and lived every day to the fullest. Nicholas touched many lives and will be deeply missed by his family and by all who knew him.

Those Nicholas leaves behind to cherish his memory include his parents, Dennis Giese (fiancee, Tina Schrank) of Brownsville and Debby (Scott) Ebert of Kewaskum; a brother, Shawn Giese of Brownsville; a sister, Alexya Ebert of Kewaskum; his maternal grandfather, Richard Wondra of Campbellsport; his paternal grandparents, Norman and Delores Giese of Lomira; his step-grandparents, Eugene and Betty Ebert of Kewaskum; three aunts, Lisa (TJ) Wondra-Tarrant of Fond du Lac, Angel (Ed) Schrauth of Lomira and Kathi Jo (Jon) Wondra-Schraufnagel of Brownsville; a step-aunt, Jenny (Chris) Peters of Kewaskum; five uncles, Tony (Rhonda) Wondra of Campbellsport, Mike (Chris) Wondra and Brian (Amie) Giese both of Lomira, Dale (Jenny) Giese of North Fond du Lac and Marvin (Kathy) Giese of Theresa; Tina Schrank's children, Tanner and Devan Schrank, other relatives and many, many friends.

Nicholas was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Renee Wondra; his great-grandparents, Bernard and Marie Wondra; his great-grandma and grandpa Barnes; his great-grandma and grandpa Giese "Farm"; his great-grandma and grandpa Ewert "Town"; his step-great-grandma, Delores Ebert; two uncles, Tomie Wondra and Earl Kleinke and an aunt, Vernice "Tuddy" Roesel.

Funeral services for Nicholas will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 14, 2013, at St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kewaskum. Rev. Timothy Henning will officiate and burial will at 10:00 a.m. on Friday in St. Petri Cemetery in the town of Theresa.

Relatives and friends may call at the church on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of services.

Memorials to St. Petri Cemetery Association, New Fane Kettle Riders Snowmobile Club, St. Lucas Lutheran Church or St. Paul's (Halfway) Church are appreciated.

The Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum has been entrusted with Nicholas's arrangements. Additional information and guest book may be found at www.millermartinfh.com.

Nicholas's family extends a heartfelt thank you to the Pickerel Gang for doing all they could do for him.

Dear Debby and Family,
"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it wer not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. John 14:1-3
May you find comfort in these words. Our times are in God's hands. My heart is sad for your loss, but I saw Nicholas in church with you and I believe that he is enjoying the splendor and beauty of eternal life in heaven. I like to think that Nicholas and Ben are talking about the Brewers together.

I didn't know Nick personally, but I did attend KHS with him. I do remember his smile while he was walking down the hall. From someone who lost a close friend a few years back, I can imagine the pain everyone is going through. I hope God can help all his family and friends through this time of need.

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there

There are no words I could ever write to fill the loss in your heart and to know what you are going through. The Angels came for your Son much sooner than planned and we will never understand why but God had a much bigger plan. I know he will watch over all of you each and every day until you meet again. Hold each and every memory of Nick close to your heart and cherish those moments, for he lives on within your heart. You will always have your memories together from the first time you felt him move, to the first time you held him in your arms, to his first words, to his first steps to each and every one of his first after that. A thousand words won't bring him back nor a thousand tears because I am sure you've tried that. Now he is up in Heaven with all of the other Angels up above remember he is not alone, I am sure he had three Angel's crying as they welcomed him home and they will watch over him until you can see him again for no one can ever take your place you will always be Nicks Mom.
