I was Stu's roommate at Annapolis and am very saddened to hear of his passing but encouraged by his strength over the years. As with all roommates, we struggled at times but he is a big part of my life and I am better for knowing him. I know he inspired many with his work with AA and for that alone many are blessed and saved. Please accept my sincere condolences. Stu, we will meet again.

The Navy Hymn
Eternal Father, Strong to save,
Whose arm hath bound the restless wave,
Who bid'st the mighty Ocean deep
Its own appointed limits keep;
O hear us when we cry to thee,
for those in peril on the sea.
We will meet again.

Stu lived this biblical passage in his life:
Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor; If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
Stu was a great friend and we will miss him dearly. A good man who dedicated much of his life to helping others he has left us way too early. He served his nation as he served his fellow man, with dignity, honor and selflessness. Stu's life journey provided him with a wisdom beyond his years. Our prayers go out to his family and friends, he will be sorely missed. Ken & Kathleen Michaelchuck
