Zimmerman, Mary Robin "Bobbie"
Mary Robin "Bobbie" Zimmerman died suddenly and unexpectedly on July 3, 2014, in San Jose, CA on her way home from work.
Bobbie was born on August 18, 1958, in Beaver Dam, WI, to June (Ruecker) and Robert Zimmerman. She grew up in Mayville and Lomira and graduated from St. Mary's Springs High School. She attended Marquette University and spent a summer studying fashion design in Paris.
She worked for many years in the legal field in Milwaukee, most notably at Foley and Lardner. Her desire for a warmer climate took her first to Phoenix and then to San Jose, CA. Bobbie most recently worked as a Senior Paralegal for Maquet Cardiovascular in San Jose. She was a valued employee who devoted much of her time to her profession.
Bobbie always made time to stay connected with her family and friends. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and making beautiful jewelry that she loved to wear as much as give as gifts. She was known for her kind and generous heart, big smile and contagious laugh. She will be deeply missed by all who were lucky to have known her.
She is survived by her father, Robert Zimmerman of Fond du Lac; and her siblings, Patrick Zimmerman (special friend, Liza Allen) of Mendota Heights, MN; Nikki (Robert) Devine of Fredericksburg, VA; Michael (Loretta) Zimmerman of Anaheim, CA; Traci Zimmerman of Round Rock, TX; and Kelli (Andrew) Zimmerman-Klemp of Fond du Lac. She also leaves behind her beloved niece and nephews: Peter (fiancée, Jenna Perkins) and Max Zimmerman, Matthew and Tara Devine, and Ty Zimmerman. Preceding her in death are her mother, June Zimmerman and her grandparents, Richard and Lillian (Weninger) Ruecker and Gustav and Helen (Volling) Zimmerman.
A celebration of Bobbie's life will be held at the Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts in Fond du Lac on August 16, from 1:30 to 3:30 for family and friends. Bobbie's west coast family and friends celebrated and honored her on July 26, in Newark, CA at her favorite restaurant.
As Bobbie enjoyed helping others, the family is asking that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bobbie's name to: Dress for Success at 560 Valley Way, Milpitas, CA 95035 or to In Our Lifetime, a charity dedicated to breast cancer research and support at www.immediateimpactwalk.org/marcia.
