I knew Mr. Parker was deceased, but I didn't know the date. He brings back such happy childhood memories of my singing the "Davy Crockett" theme song from the Walt Disney sponsored series base on the frontiersman of the same name. It was pretty heady for a six year old GIRL (That was very UNUSUAL in those days of 1954/55) to be asked by the teacher to sing the entire song in front of the whole first grade class. I DID IT! To this day, almost 60 years later, I can still remember most of the words to that theme song. I didn't watch "Daniel Boone" because I was a "grown up" college student by then. Rest in peace, and thanks for the beautiful childhood memories. BTW, I wanted one of those coonskin caps, and a fringed leather jackets so badly, but with eight kids to fed/support my parents couldn't afford them.

I will 64 years old in a couple of weeks. I was born an raised in southern Missouri and Northern Arkansas. i wouldn't miss a TV show of his when I was a Teenager. I had such a crush on him. I still watch reruns of Daniel Boone. The shows now are so filled with foul language and all the things that television could do without. I am a old lady with a great grandchild, I wish she could see more wholesome stuff that they see these days. It's raunchy and crude and disrespectful. He was a good person and actor to respect and live up to.

I watch the "Daniel Boone" show daily on local oldies television and wish we had more shows like that today. i'd rather watch the "oldies" all the time than even a minute of the new ones. Mr. Parker, you and your great values are greatly missed.

Our paths crossed twice in my lifetime. First when you were filming "To Climb an Angry Mt) in Mt. Shasta, then again when I moved to Santa Barbara. You were kind, giving, honorable and a pleasure to have met. I worked for you in Santa Barbara and you held our son where you were filming in Weed/Mt. Shasta and we got to take his picture with you! My husband and I had watched you as kids and it was probably a bigger thrill for us than our child.
In Santa Barbara I helped on the hotel project while I was a student at Santa Barbara Community College. I helped you keep the truck loads of dirt an honest count, which mixed well with studying for college tests at the same time! Thanks for that!!
Fess Parker was a delightful man and it was a pleasure and an honor to have met him and enjoyed him as an entertainer most of my life. Rest in peace kind man with honor and dignity. They just don't make them like they use to!!
