To the Bunnell Family –
Words cannot express how deeply saddened I am to hear of this tragic event. I had the privilege of knowing Shawn and playing alongside him – and I'm sure all who did would agree that there was no greater teammate to have than Shawn Bunnell. His senior year at LHS was the most fun I've had on a basketball court in my life. Shawn was undeniably the leader of that team. He brought a level of energy, enthusiasm and intensity that was contagious. No matter who the opponent was - we knew that our team was not going to be out-hustled, out-rebounded, or in any way intimidated – and this was all due to his leadership - and that our great friend David Cormier.
I will never forget #15 energizing the gym by diving for loose balls, going for steals, flying in for a one-handed rebound – and then every so often slamming the mats under the hoop. He played with such great passion – and that all carried over to other areas of his life. What a privilege it was to play alongside you, Shawn. The world is missing one of our best.
