Nancy Kelly was a long-time professor of mine who has helped me toward my degree. She was a very kind and passionate person who cared deeply for her students and had a charm and humor unlike any other. I remember upon entering my student-teaching practicum in the spring of 2012 she contacted my supervisor and told her to take care of me because I was "one of the good ones". She was also happy to write me a very strong letter of recommendation upon my very first request and has checked in with me a few times since my graduation to see how I was doing. It is this kindness and dedication toward her students that really defined the strength of Nancy's character and she will be greatly missed.

To Nancy's Family and Friends; I am so very sorry to hear of Nancy's passing. She and my husband Bernard were cousins. Sadly we had not kept in touch for years. I do remember her many from many years ago. A beautiful Spirit. I am sure she will be greatly missed.

Aunt Nancy was such a lovely and special person. She was one of the best memories of my favorite time: driving up to Maine from Florida for summer vacation. We'd always get a double dose of Aunt Nancy as we'd get to stay at her house and have so much fun exploring around Massachusetts, and then we'd see her a few weeks later when she'd drive up to Maine to stay at our cabin, sail and pick blueberries with us. Aunt Nancy would always make me feel special and loved, and my heart would always leap when I'd see her little burgundy VW Rabbit pulling up the leafy driveway of our cabin in Maine. There are countless memories of bonding over walks, salad making, sailing and many a yummy meal together. Aunt Nancy made everything fun because she was so happy and kind. Even though we saw each other way less when I moved to California, she was always on my mind. The day of the Boston marathon bombing, I called her just on the off chance she might have been in Boston that day. She assured me she was safe and fine in her usual calm and warm demeanor. She's no longer there to reassure us in physical form, but she will always live in my heart as my dear Aunt Nancy that loved me no matter what and always made me feel so special. Rest in peace, "m'dear".

Healing prayers and wishes to Nancy's family on your sudden loss and grief. It is also a tremendous loss and sadness for all who knew and worked with Nancy. Her shining spirit was very special and she will be sorely missed.

Dear, dear Nancy, my colleague, mentor and forever friend. From that moment in August, 1980 when I walked by your classroom and heard you lecturing on 19th century literature I have been in awe of you and your ability to touch lives and empower young people. You have touched my life and the lives of everyone in my family. It's impossible to think of sailing in Maine or our wonderful travels to New England without thinking of you. You were the one who listened best, never judged and always gave comfort. We will miss you Nance but like so many others, your positive, wonderful impact on our lives will never be forgotten. Peaceful journey my dear friend, Gale
