Aunt Nancy was such a lovely and special person. She was one of the best memories of my favorite time: driving up to Maine from Florida for summer vacation. We'd always get a double dose of Aunt Nancy as we'd get to stay at her house and have so much fun exploring around Massachusetts, and then we'd see her a few weeks later when she'd drive up to Maine to stay at our cabin, sail and pick blueberries with us. Aunt Nancy would always make me feel special and loved, and my heart would always leap when I'd see her little burgundy VW Rabbit pulling up the leafy driveway of our cabin in Maine. There are countless memories of bonding over walks, salad making, sailing and many a yummy meal together. Aunt Nancy made everything fun because she was so happy and kind. Even though we saw each other way less when I moved to California, she was always on my mind. The day of the Boston marathon bombing, I called her just on the off chance she might have been in Boston that day. She assured me she was safe and fine in her usual calm and warm demeanor. She's no longer there to reassure us in physical form, but she will always live in my heart as my dear Aunt Nancy that loved me no matter what and always made me feel so special. Rest in peace, "m'dear".
