I had the opportunity to work with Dave for over 25 years as the school social worker at Cook School. He was a principal that knew all his students and was genuinely concerned about their welfare. Mr. Caswell was actively engaged in his community and worked hard to improve the school district and the city of Flint. During our last visit with Dave, he encouraged my husband and I to continue to let our voice be heard in support of the city and schools. Mr. David Caswell will be missed.

Most principals are thought of as the final school disciplinary. Mr. Caswell was different. Whether you were in trouble or not, you knew he had your best interest at heart. While attending Cook School, I saw Mr. Caswell at his home, because we live in the same neighborhood and I delivered his newspaper. Flint has truly lost a Model Citizen!!!

Mr. Caswell was a terrific person who helped so many. He loved Flint and it showed in all he did for the kids, their families, the teachers, his neighborhood, and the city. Thank you for pushing me into teaching and for caring so much about so many. We will all miss him.
