Gerald M. "Jerry" Bartram

Bartram, Gerald "Jerry" M. 4/2/1929 - 8/20/2016 Age 87 of Durand, passed away at Memorial Healthcare Center on Saturday, August 20, 2016. Funeral services will be held at Watkins Brothers Funeral Home in Durand on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Beverly Marr will officiate with burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Vernon. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. There will be a Masonic Service Wednesday evening. Jerry was born in Durand, MI on April 2, 1929, the son of Grover and Ruth (Wilkinson) Bartram. He graduated from Durand High School and was employed by various businesses and farming at a young age. Jerry worked 7 years at Simplicity, 6 years as a custodian with Durand Schools, and retired June 1, 1995 after 31 years as head of the Water Dept. for the City of Durand. He was a volunteer fireman for 42 years in Durand and was an avid bowler, loved to cook, enjoyed reading and woodworking and loved to travel. A member of North Newburg Masonic Lodge #161, Mason Chapter Royal Arch #139, Durand Mason Council #38, Durand Commandery #21, York Rite #5 College, K.Y.C.H. #22, Past Worshipful Master 3 times, past High Priest, past Commander of Royal Rite, past Commander of Durand #21, past Commander of Royal Arch. Jerry married Flora Johnson and then Arlene Broughton, who died in 1994. He is survived by his daughter, Cathy (John) Conrad of Vernon, his sons; David E. (Cindy) Bartram, Daniel Bartram of Owosso, daughter-in-law Kathy Bartram of GA, Mother of his children, Flora Johnson of Owosso, 5 step children, 2 granddaughters; Kelli & Brandie, 3 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Arlene, parents, brothers Jay, Roy, Richard, sisters Arlene, Pauline, Geraldine and Gloria, his son David M.
