To the friends and family of Chuck:

Without question Chuck Montgomery was one of the finest people I EVER met. My regret is, not staying in touch. Some months ago Don O'Reilly informed of Chuck's illness. I JUST didn't pick up the phone to call. Let this be a lesson to you.

Some years ago, he represented a firm in Scotland and brought me back the most beautiful sweater. I have always appreciated his kindness and generosity.

Because of business conflicts, I am sorry I can not be with you. But know I am there in spirit.

Godspeed to his soul.

Many fine memories of good times at Fenton High. He sure could play that sax! Blessings and God's comfort to all the family.

Chuck was like a brother to me, and was a lifelong friend. I am so grateful he was able to spend 10 days with my wife,Pat, and me here in New Bern, NC, recently, where we renewed our musical connection. I rented a tenor sax for "Iggy," and he joined my jazz trio for a rehearsal (see photo) and a gig. The world is a much sadder place today. Please accept our most sincere condolences, Patti, Charlotte, and the rest of Chuck's family. He will be deeply missed by everyone lucky enough to have known him....
