Louis Wirgau

I just learned of Louie's passing as I read the current issue of "The Chosin Few" News Digest, which made the announcement. Louie and I went to Alpena High School together in the late 1940's. We both joined the Marine Corps after high school and got together at Camp Lejeune, NC. We also visited together one time while in Korea right after the Chosin Reservoir campaign which took place in North Korea. In later years, we were both members of the Chosin Few and the Michigan Chapter. Louie was always a dear friend. I knew his parents and also both of the ladies to whom he was married. Yes, Louie will be missed. My sincere condolances to all of his loved ones.

Thank you for your service to our country. RIP.

"Grandpa" Louis, you will be greatly missed. You were a wonderful neighbor to the Richardson boys. I heard many stories of Louis keeping them in line.
