On behalf of the United States Submarine Veterans (USSVI), we offer our sincere condolences to Ann, Wayne, and all of CDR Shaddock's family and friends as you mourn his passing. May God whisper peace into your hearts, comfort, and heal them. We are grateful for Gilbert's service to our country in the U.S. Submarine Service during the Korean Conflict and the Cold War on the USS Grampus SS-523, USS Tunny SS-282, USS Darter SS-576, USS Robert E Lee SSBN-601, and Sub Tenders USS Simon Lake AS-33 and USS Hunley AS-31. He was a Life Member of USSVI and the Holland Club and a member of the Snug Harbor LOCKWOOD INTERNET and SCAMP SVWWII bases. To our “Brother of the Dolphin” we say … "Sailor, rest your oar. We have the watch. May you rest in peace and may God bless your loved ones who remain. Thank you for your service to our country."
