Dr. Riggs was a special person to the students she interacted with at Transylvania. That special bond continued with us throughout her life. Her smile, laughter and zest for life will remain a guidepost for me forever. She will be missed greatly but her memory will sustain us all.God is most fortunate to have her in His garden in Heaven. God speed Kathleen. We love you!

Dear Joy, Sarah, and Family, I am so surprised and saddened to learn of the passing of Dr. Riggs. She was a gem (perhaps not the word you would expect to see here). A good friend of mine once commented to me that she thought one of the reasons I went to see her was that we laughed for almost the entire hour. That was a bit of an exaggeration but there is much truth in that comment. She was an extremely compassionate and discerning person and I appreciated her insights so very much. Never once did I feel like I was being judged and that was so important to the effectiveness of her counsel. The fact that she was able to live an active life in spite of her paralysis is a wonderful testimony to her determination and strong will. She has and will always have special place in my heart. May you all find strength and comfort in the tremendous outpouring and testimonials from her friends and former patients. For the most part these two groups are one and the same.
