You are always remembered - and I continue to tell stitchers about your creativity and hope they will enrich their lives by enjoying your designs - and your story.

I miss you ... and am glad to have been the first winner of a model design and charts and your personal message.

I was lucky enough to meet Marilyn. She was most definitely the Grande Dame of Cross Stitch. She explained her design process from idea to finished chart. It was amazing to see how much thought, love, and work, yes how much Marilyn went into each individual chart. Your designs will be cherished for generations to come Marilyn. I miss you very much. Wish we had had more time!

Allthough I never met Marilyn, I feel I know her through her beautiful designs. She was so talented and I feel a kindred spirit as I stitch her work.

I do hope the family will bring back some of her earlier work. I have some of it, but would give my eye teeth to get the rest of her discontinued designs. It greaves me that there will be no new designs, but she will be with us every time I work on my cross stitch, or listen to Celtic music. My condolences to the Leavitt-Imblum family... But know that her legacy lives on.

This has sadden me to find out that Marilyn has passed away. I visited with her by phone and she was of great help. I have purchased I would say all of her patterns. I feel in love with them and take one on each trips to visit England each year. She will be missed and was a very skilled artist. Blessings to all the family, Madeline

But she lives on! Every time I cross-stitch an angel, somebody sees it and asks me to do them one. I'm backed up about 4 angels! Good thing I enjoy the challenges of her graphs. Currently doing the Angel of Healing which has some things it that are new to me. LOVE it!

It saddens me to learn of Marilyns's passing. I found out by trying to reach out to her regarding her Earthdancer pattern. This is the most beautiful piece of work I have done and want to pass my regards along to the family. Such a talented and loving person....as told by her works.

Gosh I did not realize Marilyn had passed away in 2012! So very sad! I have many of her cross stitch patterns. They are all so beautiful and I will cherish all of them forever! Is it possible you could bring back her out of print charts? So very sorry for the family's loss!

Sarah and family; I'm just another one of those 'old-lady' stitchers addicted to your Mother's work. I think I've done most of them. She must have been a great Mom. Her compassion shows in her work. Yes, you'll forget and pick up that phone to call her; been there, done that. It's tough, isn't it? But she is honored and loved by so many of us.

April 11, 2016

She "through her many works" will be alive into the next century. Her designs speak to your heart. No new designs by her, will leave a hole in so many hearts, as in mine. Do wish we would've met. But we sort of did as I stitching her designs, she spoke to me.
Rest Easy Marilyn,

I only just learned of Marilyn's passing. Her Santa of the Forest was my first large design that I had ever stitched. I wanted to stitch it again as I enjoyed stitching it so many years ago. As I was searching I came upon the unhappy news. I feel like there is now a big hole in my heart that won't ever heal. She was my favorite designer. I sit here, quietly crying and mourning.

It is almost 3 years later, and I just learned of Marilyn's passing last night, while looking up one of her patterns. I feel so sad.. what a loss!! What a woman!! I wish I had met her... loved her creativity, humbleness, and talent. You brought so much joy to so many, Marilyn, through your gorgeous designs. We who live in the stiching community will keep your spirit alive with all the new projects we undertake that you created. God bless you. And thank you for all the beauty you brought to this world.

I just recently learned of Mrs. Imblum's passing. I'd hoped to meet her someday. I have quite a few of her designs, purchased years ago, promising myself I'd get to them. With her passing, the "Angel of Cross Stitch"'s work is now and forever will be treasured masterpieces. She now stitches with the finest silk threads on the finest linen, found nowhere else but in Heaven...WELL DONE, THY GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT...and many blessings to her children for continuing her legacy.....

She will be sorely missed by all and especially by stitchers around the world who found comfort creating her angels. now she is among them. My late condolences to the family.

Marilyn was one of the first cross-stitch designers that I encountered who entranced me from the beginning. I stitch almost one of her designs a year for my Mom. That way we both get to enjoy the beauty that Marilyn created. Thank you for your heart and the joy you brought to those who stitched your designs and those who gazed upon them.

Reading that Marilyn was a self-employed artist who liked to cross-stitch took my breath away. She was an incredible artist who thought of her audience in ways most artists never do. My first encounter with this was with Celtic Christmas. I was hooked and am glad I was able to watch her craft grow. She will definitely be missed.

Marilyn's Autumn Angel was a great comfort to me as I was a passenger on a commercial airplane which was flying to New York a very short time after Sept. 11, 2001. I told my husband "If this plane goes down I want to be stitching an angel." I spent the whole flight stitching her wings. I'm convinced this helped keep us in the air. I was sitting in the aisle seat and could feel eyes on me. Finally I turned and saw that the folks behind me were watching intently. We were all willing this angel to do her work. She hangs by my front door now and watches over the comings and goings of my family. I call her my 9/11 angel. Thank you Marilyn!

Forgot to sign the last one, or to describe the photo. Marilyn and my best friend share a birthday. My BFF and I were chatting online while waiting for Dance of the Roses to post to the website, and when Emilie saw it, she gasped, "it's beautiful", so I knew what her next birthday gift would be. I finished it in two months, while working on rush projects professionally ... stitching relaxes me so I can sleep.
