Carrie "Monteen" Thomason, age 97, of Cumming passed away Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013. Monteen was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dillard Thomason; son, J.D. Thomason; brothers, Roy Bennett, Doyle Bennett; and sister, Irene Buice.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Karen (Mickey) Wheeler of Ellijay, Russell Thomason of Ellijay, Will (Valerie) Thomason of Atlanta; great-grandchildren, Dillon and Jake Wheeler, Drew Thomason; daughter-in-law, Reta Thomason of Ellijay; brother and sister-in-law, Lane and Lelia Bennett of Gainesville; sister-in-law, Lona Thomason of Cumming; and several other loving relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home, with the Rev. Monroe Gunter, the Rev. Harold Evans and the Rev. Brody Hughes officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Monday, Nov. 11, from 5-9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cross Roads Baptist Church.
