JOY REID "J.R." WHITE, 90, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at Hospice Home, Fort Wayne. Born Feb. 11, 1922, in Auglaize County, Ohio, she was a daughter of Joy and Nema White. He worked with the Federal Aviation Administration for 34 years, retiring as a Tower Chief. He was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church, Peru, Ind. and enjoyed coaching little league in Bluffton, Ind. and attending Cincinnati Reds games for 23 years. He enjoyed golfing and scored a hole in one on Sept. 3, 1983. Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Helen E. White of Fort Wayne; sons, James (Mary) White of Peru, Ind. and John White of Elkhart, Ind.; daughter, Nancy (Phillip) Keppel of Roanoke; grandchildren, Tony White, Cammie Walburn, Corey (Anita) Keppel, Carey Keppel, Ellen Cochran, Julie (Chris) McDonough, and Jill White; great-grandchildren, Adam, Cleo and Jake Cochran, Brenna and Thomson Keppel and Maddie and Andrew McDonough. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joy and Nema White; sisters, Jean Campbell and June Reinhart; and brother, Russell White. Service is 2 p.m. Monday at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior. The Rev. Darrell Weigelt officiating Calling also from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
