NEWMARKET - Arthur "Duke" Joseph Duquette, 83, longtime resident of Newmarket, died peacefully on April 16, 2013 in Lee. He was born February 8, 1930 in Exeter; the youngest son of Aime Duquette and Rose Deauteuil. His perpetual sense of humor will be sorely missed.

He leaves behind his wife, Doris (Vachon) Duquette, his daughter, Rose Stevens and her husband Mark, of Barrington, his son Arthur of St. Augustine, Fla., his son David and his wife Marta of Danville, his sister Teresa Robinson and her husband Robert of Seattle, Wash., his sister Anita Bernier of Sebring, Fla., plus eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Marc K. Duquette, his sisters Lena Duquette, Rose (Duquette) Beairsto, Lillian Duquette, and his brother Edward "Pete" Duquette.

There will be no calling hours.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish in St. Martin Church, Somersworth with Rev. Michael s. Taylor as celebrant.

I'm very sad to hear of Uncle Duke's passing. I wish I could be there for the service. I will always remember him playing his organ in the living room in Newmarket as my sister Diane and I tried to sneak up the stairs so we could slide down them. Good times. He was a great uncle.
