Arthur Tuttle Obituary
He was born on November 21, 1936 in Concord N.H., the son of Arthur S Tuttle Sr. and Leona (Bassett) Tuttle.
He graduated from Weaver High School and attended the University of Hartford. Art was employed as a Health Physics Supervisor for many years at the Millstone Power Station in Waterford Conn., until his retirement.
Art had many hobbies and interests. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Wilson Fire Department, and a volunteer for the Special Olympics and The United Way. He served as Past Commander at the American Legion Post 128 in Niantic, CT. He also was the MERC (Millstone Employee Recreation Committee) President for many years.
He loved boating, model trains, lighthouses, ham radio, Disney world, camping, vacationing in Culebra and cruising with his family. Art was a dedicated fan of the Boston Red Sox and UConn basketball teams. He had a great sense of humor and loved to talk with people wherever he went. Arts friends are too numerous to list however, he loved them all. He especially loved his "Bella's family" including best friends Jeannie and Tommy in Durham, N.H., and special friend Barbara Moore.
He was predeceased by his loving wife Patricia of 54 years and his son Arthur S. Tuttle III. He is survived by his two daughters and their spouses, Wendy Lee and James Watts of Durham, N.H., and Kimberly and Kurt Gottschall of East Lyme Conn. He is also survived by his brother, Charles Tuttle and his sister in law Hilda Tuttle, three beloved grandchildren; Tyler, Gabrielle and Rigg, three nieces and three nephews, and his grand dog "Sampson."
SERVICES: Calling hours in Connecticut will be held on Sunday, December 20, 2015 from 12-2 p.m., at the Thomas L. Neilan and Sons East Lyme Funeral Home, 48 Grand St., Niantic, Conn.
Calling hours in New Hampshire will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2016 from 11 a.m., - 1 p.m., at the Kent & Pelczar Funeral Home, 77 Exeter St., Newmarket, N.H.

I had the pleasure of working with Mr. Tuttle during the Conn Yankee Decommissioning Project. Mr. Tuttle had an excellent attitude with regard to work and everyone that he encountered.He made our days there pleasant and productive.May the Lord receive you with open arms.

Uncle Art, was a lot fun we used to go swimming in Salmon brook.Many times we went to Mountain park and enjoyed the rides there.Rides on the Connecicut river and Wethersfield Cove.He always had smile and never a bad word about anyone.Art is a good man..Bob Gregan

It was a pleasure to have come to know Art many years ago through the American Legion in Niantic. Art had a great sense of humor and a great wit about him. I will fondly remember many conversations about UCONN Basketball and his days as a volunteer fireman in Wilson. My condolences go out to you all. God Bless you Art - go in peace.

Art was a one of a kind person.
Art was always dedicated to serving in any capacity he could, and living life to the fullest.
In the song popularized by Frank Sinatra titled: "My Way" the lyrics explain that Mr. Sinatra was proud that he lived life his way.
Art Tuttle conducted his life in a similar fashion, and all that knew him benefited and enjoyed Art for his uniqueness, independence, and "his way".

Very sorry to hear Art is no longer with us; please accept my deepest sympathy and sincere condolences. I worked with Art many years ago and I am still very appreciative for all he did while running the employee recreation committee for many years. He was well liked by all and got around so much we nicknamed him the "Mayor of Millstone."
