I was so sorry to read of your mom's passing. I'm glad we had the chance to "catch up" a few years back.

I am glad I had the change to meet your mother. I enjoyed the stories about my grandfather, Stanley, and your father. I am glad they are together once again smiling down on all of us.

I enjoyed knowing her and Attorney Bryant growing up through the Northam Colonists. She always enjoyed chatting with me--a young middle schooler at the time and making me feel welcome at every meeting. My condolences to all of you.

Dear Nancy: My sincerest condolences to you, and the rest of Lonnie's family, on hearing that she has taken the spirit journey to the next reality. Her obituary reveals a life full of love and dedication to family, and of service to many varied communities like UNH, sports, politics, history, charities, the blind. She had a fabulous life, rich in experiences. She was widely loved, I am sure. My sister and I were tickled to see that she belonged to the very same DAR chapter as does our mother, Josephine. And I wonder if they attended some of the same meetings together, maybe back in the 90's. Mom and Lonnie grew up in a time when few women went on to college. Our Mom did not get the opportunity, but made sure that all 7 of her kids did. Your mom blazed the trail for those who followed. I am just home from Langdon Place rehab center, where Josephine still resides. In my mind's eye, I can see Lonnie sitting serenely in the dining room, as if waiting. I can see you arriving with a huge bouquet of gorgeous red violet roses, the widest, brightest smile for mom on your face, followed by that dear, gentle dog. But, no matter how much time we have, it is never enough and never easy to say good bye to a beloved parent. I send a big, warm hug to you, and will hold you gently in my heart as you adjust to her transition. Surely she has left you many incredible memories, and a heart full of love to blanket you and the others. Peace and love to you, and to your dear Lonnie.
