We send our deepest condolences to the Crippen Family and all of Fran's friends worldwide, especially his family at Germantown Academy. Fran was a true Olympian in every sense of the word. He will never be forgotten; his legacy will live on. Our deepest sympathy to all of Fran's family and friends.

He was an angel among us -- anyone who met him knew that. He spread more goodness and light in his short life than most do in a long lifetime.

Now he's an angel above us.

Dear Pete, Pat, Maddy, Claire and Teresa,
We want to express our deepest sympathy and condolences on Fran's passing.
Many people know Fran because of his athletic accomplishments; we know Fran as a fine person. He always had a quick smile and time to stop and talk whenever we encountered him. It was truly a pleasure to know him and your family for our years together at GAAC and Germantown Academy.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you,
Mike and Lauren Emmett

I am so truly saddened by the tragic and early loss of such an example of the human spirit. I never met him, but as a former U.VA. swimmer, feel as though I somehow knew him and can see the impact he had on others. We can only hope that in our daily lives we impact others half as much as he did in his short life. My thoughts are with you all.
