I remember this incident very well because it was so unusual. I also remember that the buried moving van was from a company in Palo Alto. Without Mr. Ray's courage and leadership who knows what would have happened to these children. He is a real hero. I lived close to where the kids were buried & remember how frightening this was. I didn't know he was the one who orchestrated the escape. I'm glad his community showed so much appreciation for what he did. May his legacy inspire others to do good works.

Gosh what a hero. I remembe VERY well this happening so many years ago. I hope that his family will keep the buss that he was driving and the kids were in.

This sounds like a very remarkable man. I've never heard this story before, so I'll be looking it up. RIP Mr Ray.
