My granddaughter is working on a school genealogy project. My grandfather was Thomas R. Bartol, my father was Thomas R. Bartol. My grandfather would have been Samuel Franklin Bartol's brother. We held a picture up to your reference picture and they appear to be brothers. So, we are possibly related. My aunt is Ellanora Bartol Woodruff. Her daughter Carolyn McMillan has corresponded with Lynn and we have a book that she sent us that is about Marblehead, MA. Do you have any other family tree info beyond what we have discussed here? Thank you.

My grandfather, Samuel Franklin Bartol had a brother Thomas R. Bartol of Parma, Idaho when he passed away. I would love to hear from anyone who thinks we might be related. We could share family information. My cousin Lynn in Philadelphia is more up to date on genealogy than I but it's still of interest to me.

I enjoyed seeing a remembrance of Frank, his family, and the effect he had on UP Michigan. I remember visiting his farm as a child. He was my dad's cousin, Joe (Papa) Shega.

It was an honor to grow up in Traunik and to know Frank Bartol Sr. He always had time to say hi. and his hens did lay good eggs.

It was a pleasure to know Frank as a young boy and then to renew our friendship when he was in his 90's. I will always remember him and his voice from the Slovenian songs he would sing with the other men outside the Traunik Hall. I maintain contact with Traunik because my famiy also came from Slovenia and lived in Traunik for awhile.
