I had the pleasure of meeting Fred at a roast for WBZ radio host Ken Meyer. Fred did his famous intro of the Lone Ranger at the roast. I was so thrilled to hear that. Reminded me of the radio days. Anyway, after I knew that all the radio people were at the rosat, I went home to grab my video camera and did some taping of the event and I did manage to get the Lone Ranger intro on video tape. A great moment in my life.

I always wondered who did the lead in and narration for The Long Ranger and now I know. Thanks for making The Long Ranger the classic it was then and is today. Clayton Moore, Jay Silverheels and Fred Foy, what a trifecta!

I looked at the picture - no memory sprang forth. I read the name - no recall resonated. But when reading on and learning about his contribution - my heart slowed with sadness for another legend no longer here. I remember every Saturday afternoon sitting and waiting to hear the opening of the Lone Ranger lead in. God bless him and his family. May wonderful memories like those he made for me sustain you during this difficult time.

Hi Yo Silver, Awaaaay! Cato, His faithful dog King, On King! Those were the days. Better than TV. Worked up the imagination.. Made the mind work. Great introduction to great kid's programs. Riviting. Can still hear him. A Radio and Narrator Legend.
Godspeed
