I have known your story for years. I was a late comer to the Eight Ballers, Joining from the 36PRS at the end of WW2.

Fred's service to our nation was most honorable but his service to mankind will be his legacy. In his transformation from warrior to teacher he chose to beat his sword into a plowshare and his spear into a pruning hook. God's blessing came twice. Once for him, the other for those who knew him.

Wow! What a story this man's life was, and still is. This is movie material. He contributes to the moniker "The Greatest generation". My condolences to those who knew and loved him. RIP amigo!

With no money for Christmas, not even a tree I was feeling pretty down about not having anything to give my daughter for Christmas. After reading about Mr. Hargesheimer, I realize the best gifts I could pass on to my little one... are stories like yours. Thank you.

May the world learn of the essence of humanity embodied in the soul of this great human being. My hope is that his story lives on to inspire generations to come.

Fred was truly a Great American Hero. His spirit and giving nature will be eternally missed.

What a wonderful man. If only his story could be told to many of today's youth as an example of a real man.
