When I came to Cincinnati in 1975 from Alabama that was when I first discovered that Rev. Shuttlesworth was one of the major Pioneer of the Civil Rights Movement (a prime example how history can be withheld from us). We all have a mission in life, whether its in the forefront of in the background as many of us learn that Rev. Shuttlesworth was but he made such as impact on all of our lives that we are now Honoring all that he sacrifice not only during the Civil Rights Movement but here in Cincinnati, Ohio. We must all pick up the torch that these great freedom fighters fought for because without them where would be now as a nation.

"Men of Valor" most have gone on to be with God,however, your bravery and courage will not be forgotten. Playing a small part in this "fight for justice" was the highlight of my life, I am sorry that this generation, and others, will not be as fortunate. "My Heartfelt Sympathy".

I first heard about Reverend Fred Shuttlesworth in the film documentary, Four Little Girls, by Spike Lee. Although the film was very moving and some of the scenes were just simply heartwrentching, I to this day still watch it to remind me of the struggle, the victory and to witness how Reverend Shuttleworth courageously fought for equal rights in Alabama. If you have not watched this film, please do so and when you hear his reaction to the police officer who told him to move out of town after his house was bombed it will swell your chest with pride and truly bring tears to your eyes. Rest in Peace, brave soldier of equality!!!!!
