I wanted to convey my condolences to his wife and son by letting them know that he was always kind to me. Living a few blocks from Fat Tuesday’s in New York, I would see Freddie often. He would always have time to show me something and talk about music and the challenges of being a young man. He also told me to prepare myself to "get a day job" if this music thing didn't work out. Fat Tuesday's, Bradley's, The Village Gate, Slug's, Sweet Basil, and Club Marchal are only memories. The time I spent with Freddie will inspire me for the rest of my life.
