Freddie mentored a lot of the kids that I taught and coached at Tampa Bay Tech from 1998 to 2001. He was a huge supporter of our kids, our program and myself as a coach. There were many long hot practices and in between drills or during a water break I'd look up and see Freddie standing there (usually by himself) and just watching. I would always invite him onto the practice field and he'd always decline (I don't want to interfere with what you're doing Coach). By far the most honest, caring and humble former professional athlete that I have ever met. Freddie made a positive impact in whatever he attached his name to... A GOOD NAME IS TO BE MORE DESIRED THAN GREAT RICHES - FAVOR IS BETTER THAN SILVER AND GOLD! Thank you for your support & wisdom over the years. God bless you Mr. Solomon!

I remember listening to the radio in Sumter SC when Freddie was the Sumter QB, and they were playing my HS, Hillcrest. Hillcrest had another future NFL player...Henry Marshall. Freddie won the day...I think he scored 6 times! Then I got to watch him in Tampa...what a great player and from what I hear a Great man!
