Sara McNutt Stephens
November 22, 1936-September 1, 2013

On September 01, 2013, Sara (Sally) McNutt Stephens (76) succumbed to a long battle with cancer. She was a long-standing member of the Glen Julia Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant, FL., where she was the pianist for both this church and Forest Hills United Methodist Church of Quincy.

Sally was born in Clearwater, Florida. She attended Florida State University where she received both her Bachelor and Master's degree, and was a member of the Marching Chiefs and the FSU Symphonic Band. Sally was a Fulbright scholar and studied abroad in Puerto Rico, Spain, Mexico, Germany, and Austria. Sally taught for over thirty years, with the majority of her career as a Spanish, Latin, German, and English teacher at Manatee High School in Bradenton, FL., where she also led the Sugarcanes Drill Team. She also received a Degree in German from The University of Florida, and received another Fulbright to teach English in Germany.
Sally's late husband, Henry Stephens, died in 2010.

Survivors include her sister Mary Weaver, her daughter, Carol Celeste Doemel of Woodstock, GA, her son, Colonel Stuart Alfred Kidder of Boiling Springs, PA (Teena), five grandchildren and a great-grandson.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Glen Julia Methodist Church located at 2592 Mt. Pleasant Rd. Quincy, FL. on September 21, 2013 at 11:00a.m.
Lanier-Andler Funeral Home in Snead, Florida is in charge of arrangements.
