The world has lost a great, great talent, and a generous, warm, person. I knew him from having the honor of playing with him on many amazing concerts with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra. "Mr. Hamlisch" was also my teacher at Juilliard for the American Musical Theater class. Even with all the music he had in his mind, and all the many people he has met and remembered - he managed to find space to always remember me!

My favorite memory was your wolf trap concert in which you invited my 11 year old son, Nigel, to come up on the stage to conduct the NSO...
Thank you for this memory and your infinite spark of life... May peace be with all those who knew you and loved you dearly.

I grew up listening to your music in the 70's/80's.
As a fellow Queens College alumni, may you rest in peace.
You are ONE SINGULAR SENSATION in every step you take!

I will always remember the first time I saw and heard your music. I was never lucky enough to see you in person, but always will remember watching for your concerts on TV. My prayers are with you and your family as they celebrate your life and the peace knowing you are adding your talent to those greats who have gone before. With love and blessings, Cheryl
