I always loved your Mom. She was one of my Mom's best friends, and they would take long beach walks together and talk through many things when we came to visit The Island from Atlanta. She was such a beautiful person in so many ways, and she will be missed, but I feel fortunate to have known her, and to have known that she was such a wonderful part of my Mom's life. May God give you His love and peace at this difficult time. Love to all of you.

My memories of Carolyn go back to my first apartment on St. Simons Island in 1974. She was my landlady. She was a true "Southern Lady". I saw her on the Antiques Roadshow and was able to tell her that I saw her. She dismissed it as a little thing. She was having trouble walking that day while eating lunch, so I took a dessert to her table. It was wonderful to see her. We had a nice visit. She and Charlie will always stand out in my mind of early memories of St. Simons Island. Marie Johns Sawyer (and Al).
