Bruce, I will never forget your pure, unique uncluttered view of life. You always inspired me to be my truest self, for it was evident from the beginning that you were the real thing an artist. .My family considered you to be one of their own, someone we would value and love for all time. Your light will shine forever in our hearts.

May Bruce's golden talent for literary
critique inspire my every written word.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

Bruce is someone who could bypass the polluted messy stuff in life - and instead, see love in its purest state - and go straight to the heart of the soul and express this truth every time he spoke. I was lucky enough to have Bruce evaluate my poetry and with his helpful advice, each time, his insights felt like a beautiful, magical/spiritual experience. It is hard to imagine Bruce not here to connect with us, since his loving goodness feels so infinite.

Bruce encouraged me with my writing. He gave me thoughtful and kind feedback, which I will always be grateful for. As a newcomer to a writers group he went out of his way to softly critique without destroying content.

Bruce was a member of the writers group I joined when I first moved to Gainesville in 2000. He was a brilliant man, a fine writer, and a wonderful mentor to me and other writers. One day I told him I had no ideas for a poem and he asked me to meet him in the park where we simply walked the path and enjoyed the trees and plants. When we went back to our cars he said "Now, go write a poem," and I did, a poem about the languages of trees that I dedicated to him in a student reading at Wildacres Writers Retreat, which Bruce had encouraged me to attend, and which changed my life as a writer. We also shared a great love for cats. Bruce will not be forgotten.
