Trenton - Betty Anne Carter, age 69, passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at
North Florida Regional Medical Center.
Betty was born on April 4, 1943 in High Springs, FL., to Barry Mathis & Mildred Rogers Mathis. She was a lifelong resident of the tri-county area. Betty worked for the State of Florida, Department of Agriculture as an administrative assistant. She was a member of Priscilla Baptist Church in Bell.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Barry Mathis and Mildred Rogers Mathis and her two brothers: Tommy Mathis and Bud Mathis.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Paul Carter, Sr., of Chiefland, FL., a daughter, Candace London of Bell, FL., a son, Thomas Paul Carter, Jr., of Bell, FL., two sisters, Gail Roberts of Bell, FL., and Linda Perryman of Trenton FL., and a grandson, Gaven Carter.
Funeral Service was held on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at 5:00 P.M. at Priscilla Baptist Church with Pastor Ran Black and Pastor Ray Scott officiating. The service attire was casual dress.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2119 S.W. 16'" Street, Gainesville, FL. 32608 or to the Central Gilchrist County Relay For Life, C/O Tracy Ridgeway, 112 S. Main Street, Trenton, FL. 32693

I remember Mrs. Carter and the days of Carter's Corner on Hart Springs road. My grandmother Martel Roberts worked with Mrs. Carter's mother at the Fair Store in Trenton for many years. Condolences and prayers for the family at this difficult time.
