COPELAND, ELIZABETH
(BETTY) LEE BOYD, 83
Elizabeth (Betty) Lee Boyd Copeland, passed peacefully from this life at the age of 83 on Saturday, September 30, 2017. She was born June 3, 1934 in Nashville, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 1/2 years, Jasper (Jack) Newton Copeland Jr., parents, Bowling Briggs and Katherine Louise Boyd, her brother, Bowling Briggs Boyd, Jr., sister-in-law, Mary Katherine Boyd, and her son-in-law, Charles (Chuck) Ernest Little.
She is survived by her brother James William Boyd (Rosalyn), her four children, Marilyn L. Little of Gainesville, Douglas N. Copeland of Kailua-Kona HI, Diane L. Wilson (Eric) of Gravel Switch, KY, and Andrew B. Copeland (Jasmyn) of Gainesville. Her nine grandchildren, Andrew C. Little (Jamie), Katie L. Darr (Sam), Christopher K., and Alena E. Copeland, Kyle R. and Paige N. Wilson, Kellar R. Carnes, Haven C. and Briggs H. Copeland and numerous nephews and nieces all of whom she loved dearly.
Although she worked outside the home later in her life, the job she valued most was being a wife to Jack, mom and grandma. She has been a faithful, active member of the family at University City Church of Christ for over 50 years.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, October 22, 2017 at 4:00 P.M., at University City Church of Christ 4626 NW 8th Avenue, Gainesville.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to: Haven Hospice, Inc. Gainesville, FL or University City Church of Christ.

Ms Betty was so dear to my mother Nazalee Hicks. She was so saddened when she heard of her passing. She wanted the family to know that you are all in her thoughts and prayers.

This. Was one of my saddest moments loosing a woman so close to me and my husband , son and grand daughters(from atl. ) mrs. BETTY was NOT ONLY MY EMPLOYER SHE WAS A MOM to ME. MY FRIEND, TELLING jokes. Even ones her brother told her. Praying for the family. I miss her so much
