Gainesville - Joann McLeod Brown, 62, resident of Gainesville, Florida, died Tuesday, July 8, 2014 in the Shands Hospital at the University of Florida.
Mrs. Brown was a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, born April 10, 1952, daughter of the late Joe Yoest and Grace Mingone Dondero. Joann had lived for many years in Hollywood, Florida, prior to moving to Gainesville in 2004. She was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Norbert Brown; sister, Nancy Weaver of Ocala; brother, Edward (Karen) McLeod of Gainesville, and many nieces and nephews.

I only met Joann and Norbert through my work, but I truly enjoyed them both. I am very saddened to learn of Joann's passing. She was so nice, so full of life, and funny. My prayers and wishes for peace of heart and mind are sent to Norbert and all Joann's family

Joann was a wonderful lady that will be truly missed. I didnt get to see her but maybe once a year... Evrytime she would give us a big hug and we'd talk as if we just saw each other. She truely loved her family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all who know and love her.
