When my family and I first arrived in Gainesville in the late fall of 1976, Mr. Strawder was one of the first people we met, and he was kind to my father, brother and me, and even allowed us to get items from his store across the street from our house, and pay for these items later. I will never forget his genuine kindness, love for people and his humbleness and faith in God.

As a child I was a frequent customer in Mr. Strawder's store in SE Gainesville, he would always greet you with a smile and have a conversation with you. He was a very nice man who will be missed by many. May God comfort the hearts of the family as you reflect on fond memories in the days ahead.

I was so sorry to hear about the passing of your dear Husband, Father,grandfather or what ever he was to you. I talked with him a few weeks ago in Publix. It was good to talk with him after so long not seeing him. The prayers of my husnabd and I are with you all.
