Mr. Sims taught me at Howard Bishop, then again at Gainesville High School. His personality and sense of humor always made his class fun. He was truly a brave soul, as he co-lead the 30-day European tour of 22 high school graduates, almost all girls. I'm sure we were the source of many of his premature gray hairs, as we were chases through the streets by handsome young Italian men, on our way back to the Convent. We had a lot of fun, while we experienced the artistic cultural wonders of Madrid, Rome, Florence, Munich, Salzburg, Paris and London. Mr. Sims helped make a lifetime of memories. Bonnie Williams and I have laughed about that trip many, many times. I have thought about him often, and wish his family great blessings during this time of loss.
