It is with tremendous sadness that I must say goodbye to a vibrant, intelligent, strong lady. Ilia, you were such a joy to know for so many reasons. The world is a little less colorful, funny, and whole without you in it. I know you'll have the angels in stitches with laughter. Much love,
Scarlett

To all of Ilia's family: I want to extend my deepest sympathies to you over the loss of Ilia. I had the good fortune to work with her at the Kennedy Covington law firm where she was my legal assistant, and I fondly recall her keen intellect, her sense of professionalism and her wonderful sense of humor. In particular, being roughly comparable in age, we frequently shared some of our life experiences with each other and I can recall her telling me about her childhood and what brought her to this country. It was an inspirational story and it made a big impact on my life to learn about her life. I was truly blessed to know her and work with her. I can still vividly recall the many wonderful laughs we enjoyed about my thick Southern accent and how hard it was to decipher on what was then called a Dictaphone. I hope all of you will have many wonderful similar memories of Ilia to sustain you during this difficult time. Raleigh Shoemaker, Charlotte, NC

Mrs. Lively was my spanish teacher at CPCC. She was such a good teacher and person. I loved her class and learned so much. I think one of the best things about her was her sense of humor. I know she will be missed very much.
