My wife Pat and I knew Karen and husband Art thru mutual friends in the cul de sac where the Kings lived. We became fast friends and had many fun times during holidays and garage sales that we were fortunate enough to be included by all members of the cul de sac. We will greatly miss Karen. She was a gracious hostess and a loving person. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Art and the rest of Karen's family. As stated in the prayer of St Francis of Assisi, "For it is in dying, that we are born into Eternal Life."

I enjoyed working with Karen at Hidden Oak. I still have some books in my classroom library with her name on them. I think about her whenever I see them and I smile. My thoughts and prayers are with Art and the family.

To the family, I am sorry to hear the news about your loss. May the God who "binds up the brokenhearted" and "comforts all who mourn" sustain your family during this challenging time. Isaiah 61:1,2*
