Kim Abel touched the lives of all who were fortunate enough to train with her and know her as a passionate teacher. Her meticulous planning of classes, insightful analysis and words of encouragement shaped the careers of so many. I admire her greatly and will miss our friendship. All my heartfelt condolences to Ric, Buddy and her family.

My heartfelt sympathies to the family during this difficult time...May your fondest memories bring you joy and may prayers to the God of all comfort strengthen you.
He promises, "I have heard your prayer. I have seen your tears. I am healing you."

Kim will be greatly missed in the dance community. She was so kind and giving to all. My prayers for her family and friends.

Kim made it look effortless. A loving wife and mother and an exceptional talent - she navigated within those worlds with intelligence and passion. Even when she was so ill and knew she was dying, she handled it all with grace and strength. I loved her dry humor but she wasn't a cynic. She was a caring, perceptive woman with that rare quality of knowing how to be there for herself, her family and friends. Shortly before visiting her in Dallas, I found myself in Lincoln Center. And there she was Kim's presence as she will always now be for me and her many students. She was my teacher, too. In loving memory, Patty Moms Otis Abel

KIm was a friend and colleague for many years, since our student days at Joffrey ,then in Maggie Black's classroom.
We both taught at STEPS and I was always impressed at her diligence and dedication as a teacher. Her students adored her and she was so positive and joyous as she prepared to teach. She truly left her mark on the dance world

Kim, you are one of my dearest of cousins. Many wonderful childhood memories. Our lives took us in different directions, our paths unfortunately didn't cross much of our adult lives. we both had an insatiable love of dance; one that you aspired to, perservered and excelled in; one I only dreamed of. I was always so very proud of you and your accomplishments. You are loved and will always be missed as an earthly part of the Pechilis/Vickers/Abel family. God bless you and your family. Love, Melba

My sincere condolences to her family and friends. Will be forever grateful to have had the chance to work with Kim and take her wonderful classes. She will be so sorely missed at Steps on Broadway! Rest in peace Kim! Sincerely,
