Dear Vickie and Family,
We are saddened by Dick's Passing. Our hearts go out to you. Dick was an integral part of our Department. His expertise and creativity helped Shands Radiation Oncology Department stand out as one of the Best. Dick also was one of those people that everyone just loved. His humble self confidence and sense of humor made us all want to be around him. He will be greatly missed. Our Sincere Sympathy,

Mary and James Hudson

There were many morning like today, a bit cold outside and the sun starting to come out. I would pull my Harley out and double check everything. Pull up the kick stand and head out to meet up with the "Guy's". Perhaps it would be over in Micanopy for breakfast first but four or five of us would meet for a days ride. I knew then these were special times and how fortunate I was to have them. Dick with his side glance and often a smirk of a smile would notice something then look over at me to see if I notice it as well. Perhaps a funny customer or situation was going on. We often said much between us with out saying anything at all. Dick was that kind of friend. Riding buddies develop that kind of bond, especially Harley Riders. Dick was not much for being in the middle of situations, life had taught him the better perspective of being near the exit and ahead of trouble. We always stayed out of danger and always came home safe. He was a great friend, one of those that you are blessed to have in your life. I will miss my old riding buddy and his cigar smoke that was in the wind as I rode often behind him on the right. One day if God's willing we will have another great ride together on those deep country roads and gentle curves and hills that we both so loved. Ride on my friend and stop to say hello to others we know that have went on ahead of us. You were special, I always knew it. So today I take a car ride to your funeral, way to soon. My riding days are over but my memories of those rides with my special buddies are not.
